What is hot-process soapmaking, and how does it work?

External heat is applied during the soap-making process, which accelerates saponification (the chemical reaction between oils and lye). The soap cooks completely before being poured into molds, creating a classic, rustic bar.

Do you use lye (sodium hydroxide) in your soap?

Yes, I do. While lye is essential for turning oils into soap, the cooking process completely neutralises it. No active lye remains in the finished product.

What ingredients do you use in your soaps?

I use a mixture of olive, coconut, and castor oils in my soap, along with pure 100% skin-safe essential oils (not fragrance oils), and sometimes dried or dehydrated herbs or fruit.

My soaps contain no additional artificial or natural colours. However, some of the essential oils I use may colour the soap slightly.

Do you take requests/commissions?

At this stage, I am not taking any commissions but feel free to express interest in a particular scent and I will keep it in mind for future batches.
